Kenneth was born August 30, 1929 in Central City, Nebraska to Chris Paul and Helen A. (Swanson) Christensen.
Kenneth attended St. Paul (NE.) High School where he graduated in 1946. He then attended Nebraska Wesleyan University for a year before attending St. Paul Bible College in St. Paul, Minnesota where he graduated in 1950. He received his BA degree in English from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana in 1951. Upon graduation he served as a pastor for two years in Des Moines, Iowa.
Kenneth was united in marriage to Eleanor Epp on July 17, 1953 in Lincoln.
Kenneth and Eleanor founded Grace Baptist Church, St. Paul, Nebraska in 1953 and he served as pastor for the next 18 years.
For the following 20 years, he worked for the Nebraska Department of Social Services.
Kenneth lived in St. Paul, Nebraska for his entire life except for the time he was in school or when he and Eleanor traveled.
Hobbies he enjoyed were wood carving, sign painting, golfing, hunting, donating his time to the baseball museum in St. Paul and traveling which included trips to Canada, Mexico, Philippines, Japan, Tanzania, and Europe.
Kenneth was a member of Grace Baptist Church, St. Paul, Nebraska for 60 years.
Survivors are: wife, Eleanor Christensen of St. Paul, Nebraska; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger Christensen of Englewood, Colorado, Dave and Donna Christensen of Lincoln, Nebraska and Steve and Kate Christensen of Mendota Heights, Minnesota; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Tom Keller of Des Moines, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Wendell Christensen of Kansas City, Missouri and Willard and Marianne Christensen of Omaha, Nebraska; sister, Dorothy Powell of Kewanee, Illinois and a host of family and friends.
Kenneth was preceded in death by: parents; son, Douglas Christensen; granddaughter, Ellen Christensen and brothers, Jim and Bob Christensen.
Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, St. Paul, Nebraska.
