On Nov. 6, 1899 he was united in marriage to Selma Makkonen. Mr. Lehto died at the Douglas County hospital at Alexandria on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1964 at the age of 90 years, 4 months and 9 days. Surviving are six sons and four daughters: Charles of Minneapolis; Jack of Mound City, Kan.; Peter of Long Beach, Calif.; Emil, Alfred and Ben at home; Evelyn (Mrs. Alex Carlson) of Finlayson, Minn.; Kathryn at home; Alice (Mrs. Joseph Penn) of Chicago, and Ida (Mrs. George Soukup) of Cicero, Ill. Also surviving are six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; two sons, Theodore and Leonard, one infant daughter and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1964, 1 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria, and at 2 p.m. from the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran church, Moe township. Rev. George Wilson, New York Mills, officiating. Interment was in the Finnish Apostolic cemetery, Moe township. Pallbearers were Charles Lehto, Edward Werronen, Emil Lehto, Alfred Lehto, Ben Lehto and Alex Carlson. Honorary pallbearers were William Lehto and George Lehto.
