Funeral services for Theodore Everett Lehto were held Tuesday, July 1, at 1 p.m. from the Anderson Funeral home and at 2 p.m. from the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran church. Rev. Alex Besonen of Trout Creek, Mich., officiated. Pallbearers were Lyle Martin, Francis Josephson, Clarence Thompson, Edwin Lander, Marvin Hogan, Richard Dahl. Military rites were conducted by the Chippewa American Legion Post of Brandon. Interment was made in the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran cemetery.

Theodore E. Lehto was born in Urness township September 12, 1909, the son of Isaac and Selma Lehto. He was baptized and confirmed at the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran church in Moe township and grew to manhood on his parents farm. He worked at Sandstone and Brainerd, for several years, and on June 12, 1941 he enlisted in the armed forces and took his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He served with the 63rd Division in the South Pacific and contacted malaria while serving in the Philippine Islands. He was honorably discharged in November 1945. Since his discharge he has been in failing health and has spent much of the last 12 years in Veterans hospitals. He made his home with his parents for three years before entering the Veterans hospital in St. Cloud on April 11, where he passed away Thursday evening, June 26, at the age of 48 years, 9 months, 14 days.

Surviving him are his parents, six brothers, Charles of Minneapolis, Jack of Kansas City, Kansas, Peter of Long Beach, Calif., Emil, Alfred and Ben at home and four sisters, Evelyn (Mrs. Alex Carlson) of Finlayson, Kathryn of Minneapolis, Alice (Mrs. Joseph Fenn) of Chicago, and Ida (Mrs. George Boukup) of Cicero, Illinois. He was preceded in death by one brother, Leonard who passed away in 1925, and one sister, who passed away in infancy.
