Mr. Bohannon's family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today, Monday, Nov. 25, and from 10 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bohannon died Saturday evening, Nov. 23, 2013, in Standing Stone Care and Rehabilitation Services in Monterey.
He was born May 7, 1917, in the Dry Valley community of Putnam County to the late David Officer and Cecil Elizabeth Bartlett Bohannon.
He retired from Goodyear in Akron, Ohio. After moving back to Cookeville, he retired a second time as supervisor in the department of inspection and tool engineering at McCord's.
He was a 65-year member of Adoniram-Joppa Lodge 517 F.&A.M. Masonic Lodge in Akron.
He was of the Baptist Faith.
Mr. Bohannon was a loving, devoted and faithful husband to his late wife of 69 years, Dorothy Verble Bohannon, who preceded him in death on Oct. 16, 2006.
Survivors include his sister, Mrs. Marie Officer of Hermitage; several nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews; and other extended family members.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Agnes Goff, and two brothers, Charles Bohannon and Wesley Bohannon.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Bro. Freddie Copeland will officiate at the services.
