Percy, oldest son of Anson and Agnes Avery Badley, was born in Eagle Grove, Iowa, April 22,1897 and passed away at the Lutheran hospital in Fort Dodge, Iowa, May 9, 1954 after a short illness. At the time of his passing away he was 57 years and 17 days of age.

Percy grew to manhood in the community of his birth, attending the grade school and then the high school, graduating with the class of 1915. After finishing high school he went to Iowa State College and pursued studies in an engineering course for two years, stopping his studies to enter the army where he served for nearly two years during the First World War. After his discharge he attended Iowa State College for a time and he then accepted employment with the Iowa Public Service.

On June 10, 1920 he was united in marriage to Elva M. Allen of Clarion, Iowa and during the year of 1921 he began farming, which has been his occupation since.

Percy was an active man, doing his best in whatever he undertook. He was a member of the Methodist church, serving on the Board of Trustees, and on many of the important church committees. He was an usher, seldom missing regardless of the kind of weather, and will be greatly missed by the members of the official board of the church.

Besides the church he was a member and very active in Bower Lodge No. 464 A. F. & A. M. of Eagle Grove, serving as Master of the lodge during the year of 1938. He belonged to Eagle Grove Chapter No. 123 R. A. M., Medina Council No 26 R. & S. M., Mount Lebanon Commandery No. 61 and Za-Ga-Zig Temple A. A. O. N M. S. of Des Moines, Eagle Chapter O.E.S. and Sharon Shrine No. 14, and a member of the American Legion.

He was a good man, a devoted husband, a splendid neighbor, held in highest respect by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Elva, his mother, Mrs. Anson Badley; one brother Bruce of Lander, Wyoming, and one sister Mildred now Mrs. Floyd Bell of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; besides other relatives and a very large circle of friends.

His father, Anson Badley preceded him in death on April 17, 1953.

Services were held at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the First Methodist church at Eagle Grove, Iowa with Rev. Harrison G. Dawes officiating. Interment was held on the family lot in Rose Hill cemetery.

"In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross" were sung by J. Paul Yon and B. H. Moklkebust accompanied by Mrs. George DeForest on the organ. Martin Larson, Max Marolf, Justin'Thebiay, Robert Stryker, Dr. E. C. Johnson and S. B. Paine served as casket bearers.
