Esther (Doleysh) Wessely, age 97 of Kewaunee died Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Kewaunee Care Center. She was born January 18, 1912 in Two Rivers to the late Wenzel C. And Mary (Swoboda) Doleysh.
On July 10, 1946, Esther married Leo Wessely in Two Rivers and he preceded her in death on March 20, 1987. Esther enjoyed music, playing bingo, sewing and rummage sales. She was a member of the Z.C.B.J. Lodge 142 of Two Rivers for over fifty years.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law; a grandson and his wife; and two great granddaughters. She is further survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Julie Johnson and Winifred (Patty) and Roland Schmeichel, both of Two Rivers and Beverly and Frank Hlinak, Maribel; two sisters-in-law: Milly (Jim) Doleysh, Mishicot and Eunice (Butch) Doleysh, Manitowoc. Other Survivors include a brother-in-law: Clarence (Wimpy) Wessely, Kewaunee; a sister-in-law: Evelyn Pribyl, Kewaunee and other members of the Doleysh and Wessely families. She was preceded in death by a son: John L. Wessely; a granddaughter: Jamie Wessely; three sisters: Leona Doerfler, Helen Plansky, Dorothy Nimmer and three brothers: Wenzel "Jim" Dloeysh Jr., Wilfred "Butch" Doleysh and Clarence (Chubby) Doleysh and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Visitation and Funeral Services held Friday, March 6 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee, with Dcn. Robert Pribek officiating. Burial in Riverview Cemetery.
