She became a member of the Evangelical Church when ten years of age. From that time to the end of her life, she gave a rich testimony of Christian experience. During her young life she was active in the Marion Evangelical Church, where she organized the Mission Band and gave much time and effort for many years.
After they were married they settled on a farm near Durham, Kansas. They took into their home two foster children. They moved to St. Francis, Kansas in Cheyenne County in 1918 and then returned to Marion County in 1941.
After her husband passed away she was cared for in the Arthur Kelsey home, where she had wonderful care.
