"George W. Shelhart who lived 87 years on the same farm on the north edge of Indian Creek Township, died there Sunday on his birthday anniversary. He had been ill more than two weeks from ailments incident to his advanced years. Mr. Shelhart was born in Spencer, Ohio, 11 April 1850 and in the fall came to this county with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Shelhart. In 1872, he was married to Priscilla Sheidler and two years after her death in 1875, he was married to Rebecca L. Hines, whose death occurred in 1921. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Galbreath of Benton Harbor, Michigan; and five sons, Charles and Andrew of Prospect, Ohio; Oscar of Columbus, Ohio; and William and Andrew of this county. There are also 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two half sisters Mrs. Elizabeth Wilson of English Lake and Mrs. Julia Markley of Francesville. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Pulaski Church conducted by Rev. J. J. Meyer. Burial in Pulaski Cemetery.
