Hazel M. Bishop Palmer was the daughter of Calvin T. Bishop and Marguerite Arnold. She was born and raised in the Town of Venice, Cayuga Co., New York. Hazel married Leon D. Palmer, son of Daniel Palmer and Cordelia A. Bartholomew, ca. 1923. Hazel and Leon resided initially in Frederick Co., Maryland where Leon was a Farmer. By 1930, they had returned to Stewart's Corners in the Town of Venice where they resided until Hazel's death in 1945. Hazel and Leon had a son, Gordon Leon Palmer.

"Mrs. Leon D. Palmer - Mrs. Hazel M. Palmer, 48, wife of Leon D. Palmer, died Tuesday at her home in the Town of Venice, after a long illness. Mrs. Palmer was born December 3, 1896, in the Town of Venice, the daughter of Calvin and Margaret Arnold Bishop. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Auburn. Surviving Mrs. Palmer, besides her husband, are a son, Gordon L. Palmer of Venice; a sister, Mrs. George Austin of Venice; two brothers, Clarence Bishop of Venice and Tracy Bishop of Moravia; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the family home, Rev. W. S. Anderson, pastor of the Utica Seventh Day Adventist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Genoa Rural Cemetery."
