Darrell G. "Dick" Cope

A true people lover, in Roseville on December 11, 1999 after a long illness. Born on June 8, 1922 in Rugby, North Dakota. Grew up in North Dakota, Missouri, and Bakersfield, California. He married his one and only true love on October 31, 1941 and they moved to Martinez, California in 1942. He established a business as a general contractor and in 1957 moved his family to South Lake Tahoe, California where he continued a successful contracting business for 27 years. He was a 32 degree Mason, a member of the Ben Ali Temple, Scottish Rite, and Blue Lake Lodge at South Lake Tahoe. After retiring in 1974 they moved to the Sacramento area and have since lived in Granite Bay for the past 14 years. He loved to play golf, fish, and travel in their motorhome. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruth Cope, daughter Carol Cope, brother Duane Cope and a host of other loving relatives. A memorial service will be held at Lambert Funeral Home, 400 Douglas Blvd., Roseville, CA, on Wednesday, December 15, 1999 at 11:00 A.M.
