Visitation for Duane Eugene Cope will be held at Basham Funeral Care 3312 Niles on Tuesday evening July 30 2002 from 5 to 8 p.m. and a graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on wednesday morning July 31 2002 at Hillcrest memorial Park.Duane was born on February 2 1932 in Aurira,Missouri and he passed away Saturday morning July 27 2002,with his family by his side.
Duane resided in Bakersfield for 68 years.He graduated from Kern County Union High School and he served our country in the US Navy during the Korean War.Duane worked in the meat industry for Kern Valley Packing Company. and he was a salesman for Wilson Meat Company.he also owned his own meat market for over 30 years.Duane was a member of the Tight Turtle Camping Club where he made numerous good friends and enjoyed so many great campouts.
Duane is survived by his wife of 51 years,Cleona Cope;son and daughter in law,Gary & Phyllis Cope;son and daughter in law,John & Sandra Cope;sister in law Ruth Cope;sister in law Jenice Fipps;brother in law Herbert Ledford;6 grandchildren,jennifer,Jared Brandon,Breanne,garrett,Brett,Alison and Kelly;1 great granddaughter Kelsey Cope and numerous nieces and nephews and wonderful friends.For additional service information please contact Basham Funeral Care 3312 Niles Street,
