Dr CALVIN STEVENS was born on 23 April 1815 in Enosburgh, Franklin County, Vermont to Samuel Stevens and Hannah Hayward-Stevens.

Calvin received a common education in Enosburg, Franklin County, Vermont. He graduated from Bowdoin College, Medical Class 1844, and earned a Medical Degree at Harvard Medical School, 1845. Calvin treated the citizens of Boston, Massachusetts as a Physician from 1845-1895, and he was a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society.

Calvin married Sophia Toppan Crocker-Stevens on 14 June 1854 at New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts, and they had TWO sons of record:

Oliver Crocker Stevens (1855 – 1911) and
Dr William Stanford Stevens (1859 – 1916).

Five years after his first wife passed away, Calvin was remarried to Emma A. Tewksbury on 13 June 1871 at Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. No issue of record by this marriage.

Calvin passed away on 01 March 1898 in the village of Auburndale, Newton town, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, and he was laid to rest at Rural Cemetery, New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts.
