She was born Nov. 11, 1923, in Mount Vernon, Ind., living most of her life in Pendleton.
She dedicated her life as a wife, homemaker and loving mother. The joys of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook and fish. She was a member of the Moose Lodge 1617 of Petersburg, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Noel Newcomb; parents, Ralph and Esther (Thurman) Sumners; two brothers, Ralph and Curtis Sumners; two sisters, Ruth Houghland and Mary Louise Vaughan; stepdaughter, Emma R. Walther; and son-in-law, William Gordon.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton, with John Aukerman officiating. Burial will follow in Huntsville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday at Lahm Chapel.
