Found in The State 27 January 1933: Mrs. Estell Adams Irby, wife of George P. Irby, 1109 College street, died at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Columbia hospital. She had been in ill health for some time. Mrs. Irby was before marriage Miss Estell Adams, daughter of Captain Adams, who for so long was bookkeeper at the state penitentiary. She was 38 years old, having been born in Columbia September 14, 1894. She is survived by her husband and several children. Mrs. Irby, a lifelong resident of Columbia, had many friends who will joint with the family in mourning her death. She was a devoted mother and wife and a woman of high Christian ideals. Funeral services will be held at the grave in Elmwood at 3 p.m. today.
