Irma M. Rushing 93, of Muscatine passed away on Tursday February 27, 2014 at Carrington Place.
Funeral service will be held at 2p.m. Monday March 3, 2014 at the Ralph J.Wittich Riley Freers Funeral Home. with Rev. Pamela Saturnia of First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Casket bearers will be John Cawiezell , Bill Cawiezell, Don Cousins, Travis Ehrecke, and Travis Bullard. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2p.m. on Monday March 3, 2014 at the funeral home. Memorals may be made to the First Presbyterian Church. Th family would like to give thanks to the staff at Carrington Place and Hospice Compassus.
Irma was born on September 14, 1920 in Pleasant Praire, the daughter of George and Mable M. Teitsch Altmann. She married J. Ward Rushing on March 2, 1947 in Muscatine. He preceded her in death on August 16, 1991.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Those left to honor her memory include two brothers, Harvey Altmann and wife Kate of Houston Texas, and Kenneth Altmann of Portland Oregon; and three sisters, Anna Synder of Davenport, Eunice Cawiezell and husband Don of Pleasant Prarie and Bernice Libdell of Durant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, and brother in law, Blanche and Harry Secrist nd Elizabeth and Leroy Guerink, two brothers in law, Delmar Snyder and Floyd Lobdell and one sister in law, Shirley Altmann.
