Her brother Joseph Maxa came to the United States before Anna and her husband. Joseph and his wife (Mary Schima Maxa) first settled in Chicago and then in Le Sueur County, Minnesota.
Anna was buried in a "term" grave - a grave sold for a term of time After the time was up, the site was resold. According to the staff at Bohemian National Cemetery, he actual location of her grave has been lost.
