Jefferson City News-Tribune (MO) - Wednesday, August 2, 2000:

James Allee Irey, 75, California, died Aug. 1, 2000, at Capital Health Care. He was born Nov. 6, 1924, in Latham, a son of Reed and Florence Allee Irey. He was married June 14, 1947, to Mary Louise Bolinger, who survives at the home.

He was a 1943 graduate of Latham School and a veteran of World War II. He was employed at A.S.C.S., Pettigrew Store and Charley Stock. He was a school bus driver for Latham R-5 School District. A farmer, he raised turkeys and feeder pigs. He was a member of Green Grove Baptist Church, Latham, and a 4-H leader.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Joyce Ann Zimmerman and Cheryl Denice Irey, both of California; one son, Alan Reed Irey, California; one sister, Mary Lee Bell, Kansas City; one brother, Dean Irey, Latham; four granddaughters and one step great-granddaughter.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Weber and Sons Funeral Home, California. Glenn Peters will officiate. Burial will be in Hickman Cemetery, Clarksburg. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
