Mary Lee was born June 26, 1926 to the parents of Reed & Florence Irey of Moniteau County, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her Mother & Father, 3 brothers, James Allee, Glen Dean & Donald Ray Irey.

Mary Lee attended Latham School for 12 years & graduated in 1944, where she excelled in athletics. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Kansas City. Mary Lee married Wallace E. Bell of Kansas City, Missouri in 1947 & they had two children, Vickie Marie (Bell) Brown & Johnny Ray Bell. She had one stepson, Larry D. Bell. After arriving in Kansas City, she worked various jobs until finding a permanent position with The Jones Store & Co. in downtown Kansas City in 1950.

Mary Lee & Wallace "Bus", divorced in 1962. Mary Lee never remarried & worked hard to support her 2 children. She sold "Sarah Coventry Jewelry" as a second job in the early years after her divorce and as a receptionist, switchboard operator & secretary for companies such as Continental Can Co., Darling Envelope Co., Auto Damage Appraisers, & Mid America Container Co./Coca Cola, where she retired from in 1991.

She didn't stay retired too long before going to work part time for Data Source Co. At the age of 80, her work career ended after an auto accident. She spent the next several years enjoying her dear friends & family. Mary Lee enjoyed the company of a group of friends known as "The Golden Girls" at home in Kansas City. She loved entertaining on her deck, going shopping & eating out!

Mary Lee's health deteriorated to the point where she couldn't live alone & she moved in with her daughter, Vickie, in New Braunfels, Texas, November of 2012, where she lived the remainder of her life. Her Grandchildren, Jonathon Charles, Crystal & husband, Shane Knudson & Alexander Don Bell were the highlight of her life! She later became the proud Great-Grandma to three Great-Grandchildren,Seda Leona Knudson of Geronimo, Texas, and Olivia Rae & Natalie Elizabeth Bell, (their Mother Christina DeRose), of Kansas City.

Mary Lee was a mother, "favorite aunt", Nana, sister and friend to many. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren many cousins, nieces, nephews and her three sisters-in-laws. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and will hold a special place in our hearts forever!
