Obituary for Mrs. Mamie H. Morton
Mrs. Mamie H. Morton, 91, of LaGrange passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014. Mamie was born May 9, 1922 the loving daughter of Cecil E. and Connie (Henry) Halsey.

Mrs. Morton was a member of East Vernon Baptist Church and has been a pillar of her community for over fifty years. She retired after working many years in the textile Mills and spent her free time working in her yard and cooking for family and friends. Affectionately referred to as "Grandmother" by her family, she was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her two loving daughters: Frances (Jimmy) Whitley of Griffin, GA, Ellen Dramis of Plantation, FL; Grandchildren, Jennifer (Buddy) Freday, Lisa (Joe) Junek, Amanda Whitley and Andrea Wooddall; Great grandchildren, Coleman Wooddall, Adrienne Wooddall and Ashley Junek; Step grandchildren, Bobby (Karen) Morton, LaDon (Brenda) Morton, Wayne Morton, Vicki Lewis and Ken Perkins. Mrs. Morton is also survived by her 3 sisters, 1 brother and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Morton is predeceased by her husband, John Will Morton, granddaughter, Lizabeth Bryant, grandson, Mason Whitley, 5 sisters and 2 brothers.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hunter Allen Myhand Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, March 31, 2014 at 3:00 PM Hunter Allen Myhand Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery
