Elsie Halsey Brewer
(ROANOKE) Services for Elsie Halsey Brewer of Roanoke were Wednesday, Jan.
12, 2005, at 3 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Cecil Halsey
Sr., the Rev. Stoney Halsey and Dr. Fred Bassett officiating. Burial followed
at Rock Stand Christian Cemetery.
Mrs. Brewer died Sunday, Jan. 9, at Wedowee Hospital.
Survivors include two sons, Dave Collier Jr. of Lanett and William Collier
of Carrollton, Ga.; one brother, the Rev. Cecil Halsey of Woodland; six
sisters, Gladys Lewin of Oklahoma City, Okla., Mamie Morton of LaGrange, Ga.,
Lola Mae Morton of Columbus, Ga., Mary Royster of Greenville, Ga., Betty Dotson
of Cleveland, Ohio, and Margaret Kipfinger of Columbus, Ohio; six
grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and
special friends Rachel Sanders and Sandra Wade.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Brewer was the daughter of Cecil Halsey Sr.
and Connie Henry Halsey. She was of the Methodist faith and had been employed
by Handley Manufacturing for 38 years. Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by
her husbands, Dave Collier Sr. and A. D. Brewer. Flowers will be accepted or
donations made to Clay County Hospice.
