Most fondly known for his smiles, jokes and generosity,
Tony was born in Eunice, LA, and proudly served in the Navy during WWII as part of the intelligence team that cracked the Japanese code.
Long-time resident of Lake Charles, he was known as "Mr. T" as a salesman for Lee Dee where he became a top senior salesman and then worked part time for Schlessinger Wholesale before retiring. Tony served as an usher for St. Henry's Catholic Church for over 40 years, and a member of the Knights of Columbus at Immaculate Conception.
Tony was preceded in death by his wife, Armont, his daughter, Elizabeth Courville Soileau, grandson, Stephen Richard, and several siblings: Henry, AJ, Nelson, Wilson and Morris Courville, Lelia and Rose Meche.
He is survived by daughter, Jacquelyn Courville Richard, granddaughter, Yvette Karcher, two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Megan Sutton, siblings George and Sue Courville, Loris LeJeune, and Laura Abshire.
His funeral will be at 11am Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. Father Herbert May will officiate. Entombment will be at Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8:30am to 10:30am Thursday at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh.
