Avis Glampe, age 89 of Elmwood, Wi died Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home.

Funeral service is Friday, May 2, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church-Hatchville

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 1 from 5-7 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home in Spring Valley and one hour prior the service at church on Friday.

Avis Glampe, age 89 of Menomonie, Wisconsin died April 27, 2014 at the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home Elmwood, Wisconsin.
Avis was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin on December 4 1924, the daughter of Milton and Iva (Lemon) Moore, Sr. She grew up in the Weston area and attended Elmwood High School graduating in 1942.
On October 22, 1943 Avis married Harry Glampe at St. Paul's Parsonage in Menomonie. Avis and Harry farmed together for many years. They lived in Downsville for seven years and later farmed on Miller Hill in Lucas Township. Avis also worked at Sanna Dairies in Menomonie for 28 years. She loved bowling with her friends and camping and fishing at their camper on Big Sand Lake by Spooner. She enjoyed making beautiful quilts and crocheting afghans for her family. Avis lived a full, good long life and will be missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harry in 1998; 2 brothers: Eugene and Jerome Moore; and 4 sisters: Luberta Baristow, Ruby Bowell, Lucille Decker, and Loretta Brown.
She is survived by her sons: Gary (Pam) of Asheville, North Carolina; and Gerald (Vickie) of Wilson, WI; grandson Scott (Heidi Dumond) Glampe of Wilson; granddaughter Sonja (Jeff) Davis of Alaska; 2 great grandchildren: Lauren and Micah Parkinson of Mississippi; 4 step grandchildren: Jill, Tamela, Bryan Paul, and Buffie; 2 brothers: Milton (Delores) Moore Jr. of North Dakota; and David (Som) Moore of Wilson; brother-in-law Dave Baristow of Green Bay; many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was on Thursday, May 2, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley and one hour prior to the service at church on Friday. Funeral service was on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church-Hatchville with Rev Martin Wegner officiating. Sharleen Bammert was organist. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Hatchville, Wisconsin.
Pallbearers were Dennis Ziehme, Maynard Ziehme, Wayne Samuel, Ray Samuel, Scott Glampe, and Ronnie Brown.
