Per his death certificate found on Ancestry.com: his father is not named. He was a son of Frances Golladay. He was an EENT physician. He resided at South Palm Drive in Harlingen and died at Valley Baptist Hospital of acute congestive heart failure due to a massive myocardial infarction and coronary vascular disease. The informant was Mrs. Nita Lamotte.

Found in the Corpus Christi Caller-Times 02 Oct 1963: HARLINGEN-Dr. Thomas Jefferson LaMotte, 57, died early Tuesday morning at Valley Baptist Hospital after suffering a heart attack. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Kreisler-Ashcraft Chapel with burial at Monte Meta Cemetery. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Harry Hamden. LaMotte, a native of Columbia, S.C., moved to Harlingen in 1935 where he established his first medical practice out of which grew the Valley Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic. He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky Medical School and the Tulane University Post-Graduate School. LaMotte, former chief of staff of Valley Baptist Hospital, was active in many civic affairs. He was a member of the Harlingen Lodge 1132, AF&AM; San Antonio Consistory; Alzafar Shrine, charter member of the 21 degree team; past president of the Harlingen and Stuart Place School Board, past president of the Cameron-Willacy Medical Society, member of the Harlingen Elks Lodge, and life member of the Kiwanis Club. He is survived by his wife, Nita; one daughter, Carolyn Simmons of Claremore, Okla.; three sons, Dickie, of Dallas, Tommy of Minneapolis, Minn., and Eddie of Medina; four brothers and three grandchildren.
