Plymouth, Minn. - Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara Zacher, 88, of Plymouth, Minn., formerly Aberdeen, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Aberdeen. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Father Gregory Tschakert will be officiating. Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements. Liturgical Wake Service is 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary. Visitation is 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary, and one hour prior to the service at the church Friday. Barbara passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, at the North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minn. Barbara Keller was born Feb. 16, 1917, to Karl and Katherina (Baumgartner) Keller at Strasburg, N.D., where she was raised and attended St. Benedict's Parochial School. Barbara married Eugene Zacher Sept. 24, 1935, at Strasburg. They moved to Aberdeen in 1950. They were blessed with 11 children while living in Aberdeen. Besides being a full-time mother, Barbara also assisted her husband with his carpentry business. Barbara later worked for Presentation College and Northern State College. In 1991, they moved back to Strasburg, N.D. Eugene passed away in December 1999. In January 2004, Barbara moved to Minnesota to live with her family. Barbara dedicated her life to raising her family. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, playing bingo, and especially enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends. Surviving Barbara are four sons, Leland (Charyl) Zacher of Aberdeen, Donald Zacher of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Wayne Zacher of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Robert (Susan) Zacher of Yankton, S.D.; seven daughters, Patricia (Bruce) Becker of Louisville, Colo., Narcissia “Cis” (Henry) Roth of Victorville, Calif., Mary Wolfe of Plymouth, Minn., Brenda Shoemaker of Moorhead, Minn., Deborah (Tom) Gilligan of Hartland, Wis., Carol (Bruce) Burandt of Altoona, Wis., and Karen (Tim) Ausland of Detroit Lakes, Minn.; three brothers, Eugene Keller of Bismarck, N.D., Charles (Theresa) Keller of Strasburg, N.D., and Robert (Mary Lou) Keller of Hoven; eight sisters, Cecilia Knoll of Strasburg, N.D., Alvina (Joe) Eckroth of Strasburg, N.D., Bernadette (Joe) Materi of Strasburg, N.D., Geneva (Jim) McCord of Bismarck, N.D., Hilda Horner of Bismarck, N.D., Harleen (Kenneth) Walther of Coon Rapids, Minn., Henrietta Robinson of Denver, Colo., and Ursula (George) Masseth of Mandan, N.D.; 30 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and four sisters. Pallbearers will be Dean Roth, Tim Wolfe, Jamie Zacher, Evan Zacher, Tom Shoemaker, Jonathan Zacher, Colin Gilligan, Eric Kurtz and Tyler Ausland.
