He moved to McPerson, Kansas with his parents where he grew to manhood, later he came to Oklahoma where he was married to Miss Alice Abercombia, February 2, 1899 To this union three children were born, Cecil, Glen and Harlin all of Fay, Oklahoma. His wife preceded him in death July 22, 1909.
He was married to Miss Flossie McAlister, August 18, 1910, and to this union eight children were born, Mrs. Georgie Landis, Robert, Jessie, and S. Jay of Watonga, Mrs. Lucy Fisher. Long Beach, California, Mrs. Anna Mae McClure, Hays, Kansas.
Lucille and Teddy having preceded him in death.
He leaves also to mourn his passing ten grandchildren and three sisters.
Mrs. Sally Mobry, Medford, Oklahoma, Mrs. Mary Spain, Custer City, Oklahoma, Mrs. Flora Kirkpatrick, Fay, Oklahoma.
He was united to the Church of the First Born in the year of 1900, and became a minister laboring much in the gospel, living faithful and trusting the Lord unto the end.
He was a kind and loving father, a friend to all, and a host of friends and neighbors will mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Sidney Ruckman Tomlinson were held Tuesday October 7, at 2 p.m. at the Fay auditorium by Rev. Bob Tibbett of Cushing, Oklahoma, and interment was in the Liberty cemetery near Fay. Keller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
