He married Miss Marie Woldridge in 1900. To them were born six children, all survive him save one having died in infancy.
He leaves besides his own family an aged mother, one brother and three sisters to mourn his loss. He was a devoted christian man, zealous to his God. He was ordoined Elder of the church in 1909 taking the place of his father who was an elder before him and remained faithful to the end. He it seemed, was as Solomon greater than David, so was he than his father in knowledge and expounding the scriptures. He delighted in the work of receiving the perishing, a father to the poor, a stay to the weak; a comfort to all those who stood in need of comfort, not ashemed of any that was good. He died while helping in a meeting away from his home. His funeral was evidence of his standing in the minds of the people, the church could not hold ill of those who respected him.
The procession was two miles long, reaching from his grave to the church, where we took a last look at his remains. Our loss is Heavens gain.--A loving brother.
