Hilary Mueller lived in Charlestown and a member of St. Martin’s Parish in 1943. He married Genevieve Salm and farmed in the Township of Stockbridge. They had nine children:

Hilary N. Mueller, age 89, of Chilton, died on Monday, June 28, 2010 at Calumet Medical Center in Chilton.

He was born November 3, 1920 in Sherwood, son of the late Peter and Anna (Lettler) Mueller. He married Genevieve Salm on April 22, 1947 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton. She preceded him in death on July 25, 1990. Hilary farmed in the Town of Stockbridge until retiring in 1990. He also served in the United States Army during World War II in Germany. He was a member of St. Mary Parish in Stockbridge, the Stockbridge American Legion, Chilton Eagles Club, The Knights of Columbus, the Chilton Senior Citizens, and also the We Love To Dance Club. Hilary also enjoyed playing Sheepshead, Bingo, slot machines, and shaking dice at the Eagles Club. He had a fantastic memory, remembering special dates and enjoyed spending time with the Legion members for special occasions like Memorial Day and Veteran's Day. He took his civic and patriotic duty very seriously and always made sure his children voted.

He is survived by his special friend: Ceil Boehnlein of Chilton; his children: Melvin Mueller of Chilton, Shirley (Robert) Hanke of Fond du Lac, Jerry (Special Friend, Jane Waldorn) Mueller of Menasha, Arleen (Ken) Arenz of Chilton, Joan (Gary) Nate of Brillion, Judy (Joe) Thiel of Chilton, Dorothy (Al) Broker of Kimberly, Ed Mueller of Kimberly; 11 grandchildren: Ann, Patrick (Jennifer), Amy (Joe), Jennifer (fiance Jesus), William, Jeff, Brad, Brian, Ryan, Joshua, Matthew; 6 great grandchildren: Kayla, Isaac, David, Angelina, Sophia, Abigail; 2 brothers: Raymond (Rita) Mueller of Chilton, Jacob (Florence) Mueller of Sherwood; a brother-in-law: Lester Salm of Appleton; 4 sisters-in-law: Beatrice Mueller of Kaukauna; Sr. Bernice Salm of Campbellsport, Sr. Mary Patrick Salm of Wheaton, IL., Jeanette Lynch of Gladstone, MO.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter: Irene Mueller, 5 brothers, 3sisters, 1 step-brother, 2 step-sisters.

Funeral Services will be at 6:00 PM on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery with Military Rites. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton on Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 2:30 to 5:30 PM when family prayers will be held.
