Raymond P. "Ray" Mueller, Sr., age 94, of Chilton, died on Monday, April 16, 2012 at the Chilton Care Center in Chilton. He was born September 1, 1917 in Sherwood, son of the late Peter & Anna (Lettler) Mueller.

He was united in marriage to Rita Kees on May 3, 1944 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. John.

Raymond farmed for 52 years, worked at KayTee, Co-op, Rendering Plant, the Town of Chilton, Killsnake Cheese Factory, and cut grass for the Chilton Athletic Association.

Raymond was formerly an active member of St. Joseph Society and the Holy Name Society at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chilton, and was a current member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Chilton. He was also a member of the Catholic Knights Branch 148 for many years.

Together with his wife, Rita, he volunteered at the Salvatorian Center in New Holstein, and was an active member of the Chilton Senior Citizens Club. Ray enjoyed playing Sheepshead, dancing, putting puzzles together and bean-bagging with his family and friends.

Ray will always have a special place in the hearts of all of us and will be sadly missed by his wife, Rita; his children. Raymond (JoAnn) of Hilbert, Richard (Carol) of Oshkosh, Ann Marie (Bill) Juckem of Chilton, Theresa (Denis) Hostettler of Hilbert, Glenn (Mary Jean) of Chilton, Gail (Marvin) Thiel of Chilton, Carl (Edie) of Sheboygan, Karen (Mike) Peil of St. Augustine, FL, Connie (Tom) Daun of Chilton, and Peter (Carol) of Green Bay; 30 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Beatrice of Kaukauna and Florence of Sherwood. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Raymond was preceded in death by his son, Ronald; a grandson, Timothy Thiel; his parents; his brothers, Emery Krause, Jacob, Edmond, Bernard, Louis (Angie), Peter (Rita), Hillary (Genevieve), and Frederick Mueller; and his sisters, Gertrude Fahrbach, Margaret Kuepper, Erma (Peter) Koehler, Madeline (Arnold) Geiser, and Mary Ann (Philip) Nash.

Funeral service will be at 11:30 AM on Monday, April 23, 2012 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 54 E. Main St., Chilton with the Rev. Bob Kollath officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
