Moses was born in Upavon Wiltshire in 1839. He died 14th February 1862 at Winchester hospital of Tuberculosis at the age of 22 years. He was buried at Hursley Church on 19th February 1862. His burial in the Church registers actually names him as Moses Burton which is an error. At the time of his death he was living at South Lynch Hursley.
