Bastian
Lawrence (Larry) Bastian, 55, of 2104 Pierce St., Two Rivers longtime sheet metal worker and service mechanic at Suettinger Sheet Metal Works, Two Rivers and current chancellor of Mother of Good Hope Council 957, Knights of Columbus, Two Rivers, died shortly before 9:30 p.m. Sunday at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital. He was stricken with a coronary while at his work Thursday morning.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Deja and Martin Funeral Chapels and at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Two Rivers the Rev. Casimir R. Kutiuk officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

Mr. Bastian was born Feb. 15, 1909, at Niagara, Wis., son of the late James and Alice Prudhomme Bastian. When he was a child the family brought him to Luxemburg where he attended parochial schools. When the family moved to Two Rivers in 1927, Mr. Bastian was employed at Mirro Aluminum Co., and for the past 20 years had been with the Suettinger firm.

For a number of years Mr. Bastian served with the Wisconsin National Guard unit at Manitowoc. Besides being an officer of the Knights of Columbus Council at Two Rivers, he was a member of the Holy Name Society of Sacred Heart Parish.

Surviving are his wife, the former Monica Konieczka, whom he married April 23, 1935, at Two Rivers. He also leaves five daughters, Mrs. Roland Benninghaus, of Plainfield, Ind., Mrs. Kenneth Hamilton, of Manitowoc, Mrs. Elizabeth Wilke and the Misses Bonita and Alice of Two Rivers; two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Euche, of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. John Sleger, of Manitowoc; four brothers, Edgar and Donald, of Manitowoc, Elmer, of Two Rivers and Roland, of Houston, Texas, and eight grandchildren.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapels where the Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society will recite the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. and the family at 8 p.m.
