James Bastian, 73, of 1004 Buchholz St., Two Rivers, died early Friday morning at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital where he had been a patient since Monday. He had been in failing health for a number of years.

Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Klein and Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, and at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Two Rivers, the Rev. Joseph Gabryszek officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Luxemburg.

Mr. Bastian was born July 3, 1888, at Luxemburg, son of Louis and Delina Bunker Bastian. In his early years he farmed near Luxemburg and 25 years ago the family moved to Two Rivers. He was employed for 17 years at Mirro Aluminum Co., Two Rivers, and for a number of years up to his retirement five years ago he worked at Aluminum Specialty Co., Manitowoc. He married the former Alice Prudhomme at Lena July 2, 1906. She died at Two Rivers in 1940. He then married the former Dora Wilfer in 1946 who died in 1954. His third marriage was Oct. 8, 1955. He married the former Delmina Ollendorf.

Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Eucher of Fond du Lac and Mrs. John Sleger of Manitowoc; five sons, Lawrence and Elmer of Two Rivers and Edgar, Donald and Roland of Manitowoc; 18 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
