Patton- Rose M Selfridge, 87, Patton, passed away into the arms of the Lord May 26, 2014 at UPMC Altoona.. Born Dec 11, 1926 in Patton, daughter of Bernard and Gertrude (McConnell) Litzinger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Bryon Selfridge, daughter, Elizabeth Elick, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cloyd and Mary Selfridge.
Survived by her daughter, Sandra (Joe) McNulty, Patton; sons, Dan (Joanne) Selfridge, Patton; Barry Selfridge, Patton; and Richard Selfridge, Clearfield; 20 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews, especially her devoted nieces Patricia Stoltz and Dolly Litzinger, who were very dear to her.
Rose was the last surviving member of 14 siblings. Lifetime member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton; was a loving and devoted grandmother; was an accomplished seamstress, and could do anything she set her mind to do. She worked for many years at Phillips Van Huessen Co., in Patton and retired from Ebensburg State School after many years of service. At Rose's request, there will be no visitation. Memorial Mass will be held at a later date with interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Patton, with a meal to follow. If you like to make a donation in Rose's memory, memorials are requested to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital or to a charity of your choice. We would like to thank the caregivers at UPMC Hospital, Altoona; Golden Living Center, Hastings; Dr. Vasil; and the many friends who have helped us trough the loss of our Mother.
