Jane E. Brost, 84, of Kiel, died Thursday afternoon, May 29, 2014 at Calumet Medical Center Chilton. She was born on July 27, 1929 in Chilton, daughter of the late Clarence & Violet (Lechler) Anhalt. Jane was a graduate of Kiel High School in 1947. On September 25, 1948 she married Joseph Brost at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill. Jane and her husband Joe, along with Norman Brost owned and operated Brost Food Market in School Hill for many years. Her husband Joseph preceded her in death on February 24, 2001. Jane enjoyed animals of all kinds and gardening. Survivors include her daughters; Connie Brost (Fred Lubeley), Kiel, Chere (Dennis) Bargenquast, Oshkosh, one daughter-in-law, Marie Huibregtse and grandchildren; Shanya, Tessa, Lacey, Tracy, Mark & Erica. She is further survived by great grandchildren; Hannah, Zachary, Tyler, Adam & Cooper, one sister, Blou Schumacher, two sisters-in-law, Marie (Donald) Driscoll, Betty Anhalt, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph, one son, John Brost, one brother, Charles Anhalt, brother-in-law, Norman (Rita) Brost and sister-in-law, Mabel Miller. The funeral Mass for Jane will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 11928 Marken Road, School Hill with Rev. Patrick Nelson officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name for the Humane Society.
