Born in the town of Rantoul on Dec. 23, 1894, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilhelm Leider.
In 1912 she was married to John L. Henschel at Trinity Lutheran Church at Rantoul. He died Feb. 20, 1919.
She was married to Mr. Bechlem in 1920. They farmed on the Bechlem homestead in the town of Chilton. Mrs. Bechlem died Feb. 15, 1947. She moved to Chilton in 1959. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at Hilbert and a charter member of the Ladies Aid Society.
Survivors are four sons, Harvey Henschel of Brillion, John L. Henschel, William J. Bechlem, both of New Holstein, Henry Bechlem of Chilton; two daughters, Mrs. Marcella Raschke and Mrs. Margie TeVrucht both of Chilton; one brother, Albert Leider of Brillion; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Krueger and Mrs. Elisa Krueger, both of rural Hilbert; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. One son preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Hilbert. Pastor Martin Schneider officiated and burial was in Hillside Cemetery.
