Deborah was the daughter of America Fowler and Mary Mitchell, he from North Carolina and she from South Carolina. Deborah, their 3rd eldest daughter, married Robert A. McPhaill in Alabama in 1819. Sometime thereafter, Robert and Deborah moved to from Alabama to Arkansas and then Texas, eventually settling in rural Fannin County. They had 8 known children: Archibald, Elizabeth, William, Mary, Eliza, John, Flora and George Daniel.

Their youngest son, George Daniel, married Diannah Long, daughter of John S. Long and Leah Smelcer. Diannah is also buried in Blanton Cemetery.

There is no stone for either Robert or Deborah but it is thought that they are buried near Diannah.
