Margaret F. Winkel, 72, of 1114 High Ave., went to heaven Tuesday morning, June 29, 2004, at her residence.

Margaret was born Nov. 15, 1931, in Kiel, to William A. and Norma (Lorenz) Oakley. She attended Chilton High School. She was a faithful member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Margaret enjoyed gardening, reading, and sharing special times with her family.

Margaret is survived by her longtime special friend, Thomas Schmidt of Sheboygan; her children, Lynn (William) Kono, Virginia Wappler and Deborah Wappler, all of Sheboygan, Kenneth (Kim) Loose of Brillion, Nancy TenPas of Greenbush, David TenPas of Plymouth, Earl TenPas of Marinette, and Randy TenPas of Green Bay; 23 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Verna (William) Schneider of Chilton, and AnnaRae VanDerBoom of Stockbridge; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Turner, William Oakley Jr., and Freddie Oakley.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew Lutheran Church.

Margaret’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the VNA Hospice team and the staff at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center for the excellent care given to their mother.

In Margaret’s own words: “I had a good life and am thankful for my family and friends.” She will be dearly missed.
