Chester A. "Chet/Chessy" Horton, 91, of Hummelstown entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 , at Arden Courts of Susquehanna . Chet was born May 22, 1923 in Rockwood, PA, Huntingdon County, and was the son of the late George and Eunice (Waite) Horton. He was a Seaman 1st Class and served in United States Navy during WWII in Anzio and on D-Day at the landing in Normandy on the first commissioned L.S.T. 383. He was a proud member of AA and was one of the oldest members of the organization and spoke often of his long standing sobriety. He was one of the first members at Grace and Truth Bible Church, Hummelstown where he served as a board member. He married Lena M. Bussick on December 31, 1944 in Saxton Methodist Church, Bedford County and enjoyed 70 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Darlene Yohe and husband Frank. Three grandchildren, Karena Wrightstone and husband William, Frank Yohe and Ray Yohe; two great grandchildren, William and Dean. He was preceded in death by a son, Allen E. Horton; 9 brothers and sisters, Pershing Q. Horton, Roy Horton, Vaughn Horton, Ewell Horton, Hubert Horton, Olin Horton, Tennyson "Lindy" Horton, Eugene Horton and Chloe Horton Nelson.
