Born August 31, 1928 in Newville, she was a daughter of the late Byron Stewart and Elizabeth Mary Jones Myers.
Betty owned and operated Adams Grocery in Carlisle.
She also worked as a personnel manager for Carlisle Barrack Army Air Force Exchange.
Betty was a former member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carlisle.
She was the widow of Clyde Luther Adams and was preceded in death by one brother: Byron Stewart, Jr.; and, two sisters: Verna Carter and Freda Cunningham.
Surviving are two daughters: Starr Frances Zynski of Camp Hill and Patti Jo Wagner of Mechanicsburg; three sons: Michael Adams of Elizabethtown, Robert Adams of Carlisle, and Steven Adams of Dallas, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and, one sister: Marjorie Myers Caldwell of Gilmer, Texas.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Church of God Home, 801 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Chaplain Brad Moore officiating.
Burial will be in Fort Indiantown National Cemetery.
