Verna K. Carter, age 79, of Columbus, died on Friday, June 27, 2003 at Broadview Health Center. Born on May 22, 1924 in Newville, Pennsylvania to the late Byron and Mary Jones Myers. Retired after 18 years as a Sales Associate with Sears. Survived by her husband, William Carter, Sr.; sons and daughters-in-law, William, Jr. and Wanda, Thomas J. and Julie Carter; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; brother, Byron and wife Irene Myers; sisters, Freda and husband Sam Cunningham, Betty and husband Clyde Adams, and Marjorie Caldwell; relatives and friends. Funeral service 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH, where friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Monday. Burial at Kingwood Memorial Park, 8230 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center, OH. To our wife, mother, and grandmother, you are deeply loved and will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, please send your donations to Heartland Hospice of Columbus.
