John F. Kornely, 60, Route 2, Two Rivers (photo), died early Saturday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. He had been in failing health for more than a year.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. C.V. Hugo officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Two Rivers.
He was born in Kossuth in 1891, a son of the late George and Mary Sickinger Kornely. In 1913 he married Anna Silbersack of the town of Two Rivers. He assisted his father on the farm in early life. The past seven years he was employed by the Invincible Metal Furniture Company at Manitowoc.
Besides his wife, Mr. Kornely leaves four daughters, Mrs. Ray Schmidt and Mrs. Lee Dallman of Manitowoc, Mrs. Louis Frank of the town of Two Rivers and Mrs. Jack Ray of Istanbul, Turkey; three sons, Anton and Lloyd of Shoto and Norman of Manitowoc; and three sisters, Mrs. Richard Grimm of Two Rivers, Mrs. Martin Wilfert of Route 2, Two Rivers, and Mrs. Nie Silbersack of Route 2, Two Rivers. There are 17 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Klein & Stangel, Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, from 2 p.m. Sunday until hour of services. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7:45 p.m. Monday.
