The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot, with the Rev. John Neuser officiating, with burial in the Mishicot Public Cemetery.
Tony was born July 17, 1917 in the town of Kossuth to the late John and Lydia Silbersack Kornely, and has been a lifelong area resident. He married the former Arline Meissner on Nov. 26, 1935. She preceded him in death on April 8, 1957. He later married the former Ione Meissner on July 26, 1958, at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc.
He was employed as a welder for the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company for 45 years and retired in 1982. Tony was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot, and was a founding member of the Shoto Conservation Club. He was also a member of the Boilermakers Union Local #443. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed spending time for many years at his trailer in Little Sturgeon.
Survivors include his wife Ione, one daughter and son-in-law Judy and Robert Schultz of Two Rivers; three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Joan Kornely, town of Kossuth; Dale and Cheryl Kornely, Eagle River, WI.; and Dean and Susie Kornely, Francis Creek; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Ray of Marietta, Ga.; two sisters-in-law, Delores Kornely of Shoto and Betty Kornely of Manitowoc; one brother-in-law, Louis Frank of Two Rivers; nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd and Norman Kornely, and three sister, Louise Frank, Mabel Dallman and Mildred Schmidt.
Relatives and friends may call after 9 a.m. on Tuesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot until the time of services at 11 a.m. There will be no Monday evening visitation. The Lambert Funeral Home of Mishicot is assisting the family with arrangements.
The Kornely family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to sue (sic) Schmeichel and the entire staff of the Oncology Department of Holy Family Memorial Medical Center for their love, special care and concern shown to Tony and our family during Tony's illness.
