Mrs. K. Chase (Poppy) Batchelder, 87, of 404 Fifth St. NW, died in her home Thursday afternoon, May 12. Services will be in the Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour Monday at 10 a.m. with the Very Rev. Thomas E. Winkler, dean of the Cathedral, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be in Parker-Kohl Funeral Home Sunday evening. The family prefers memorials to a charity of the donor's choice. Edith Elizabeth Olin, daughter of Mark & Dinah Graham Olin, was born at Rochester July 12, 1895. On Sept. 18, 1920, she married Chase Batchelder at Rochester. They made their home in Faribault where Mr. Batchelder was engaged in farming. He died in May 1960. Since then Mrs. Batchelder has lived in Faribault. She is survived by two daughters, Jane Berry of Washington, D. C., and Edith Elliot of Canton, Texas; six sons, Albert and Mark of Faribault, Kelsey of Montclair, N.J., Christopher of Rochester and John of Mason, Ohio; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; two granddaughters, Anne Marie Batchelder and Christine Elliot Kvapel; a sister, Jane Holland; and a brother, Christopher Olin.
