Theresa Businelle, 58, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014, in a local hospital.
She was born in Morgan City and lived in Lake Charles. Theresa graduated from Grand Lake High School in the class of 1973. She was a cook for the Black Angus restaurant.
Survivors include sons, Elmer Trahan of Lake Charles and Jose Lomeli of Iowa; sisters, Brenda Comeaux of Houma, Dardinella "Dee" Breaux of Bell City and Mabel Businelle of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Alyssa Trahan, Austin Trahan, Tyler Trahan, Brooklyn Trahan, Alexis Trahan, Dominick Lomeli, Ethan Lomeli and Sophia Lomeli.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Ward J. Businelle, Sr.; brothers, Walter J, Businelle, Sr., Ward J. Businelle, Jr., James Businelle, Douglas Businelle and Kenneth Welch; sister, Josephine Aucoin; and nephew, Walter J. Businelle, Jr.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. The Rev. Weldon Bares will officiate.
Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to help with funeral expenses.
