They were divorced on July 20,2005 in Lawrence County, Ohio.ALFREDA ROSE MAYO LOWE, 71, of Chesapeake, Ohio went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ during her sleep at home August 11, 2014. She was born February 21, 1943 in Cabell Co. WV., and reared on the Mayo ancestral farm at Sherwood Drive, Spring Valley Road, Wayne Co. WV. "Freda" was a great-great-granddaughter of James Glenn Mayo, a war of 1812 veteran, who settled here from the James River, Fluvanna Co., Va. Her Mayo lineage derives from Valentine Mayo of the Middlesex colony in Virginia. A daughter of the late Charles E. Mayo and Alva Fairchild Mayo, she was preceded in death by husbands James Newton and Robert Lowe; a son Ricky Newton; brothers Eugene Mayo, Shelby Mayo, Ronald Mayo and a sister Mary Keessee. She is survived by her fiance Archie Meadows; sons James Newton Jr., Timothy Newton, Virgil Newton; daughters Tina Prout and Freda Dillon; grandchildren Jimmy Newton, Matthew Newton, Amanda Newton, Tiffany Newton, Robert Scott Pinson, Cynthia Prout, Branden Newton, Melisa Newton, Christopher Newton, Elizabeth Adkins, Stephen Clyle Dillon, Jonathan M. Dillon, Aaron Tyler Dillon; great-grandchildren Jason Pinson, Rachel Pinson, Adain Prout; brothers Charles Edward Mayo and Timothy Mayo; sisters, Alice Sperry, Bonnie Fitzpatrick and Martha Nelson. Freda is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins. Her entire genealogy is recorded in the book, Joseph Mayo, 2nd Lt., Fluvanna County Patriot, a genealogy and family history 1620-2001, Library of Congress #2001126619. The book may be reviewed at local libraries. Visitation will be at Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Friday followed by funeral services conducted by Rev. Wendell Tacket at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at the Mayo Family Cemetery, west fork of Sherwood Drive. Condolences may be expressed to the family by email at [email protected].
