Mary 'May' Louise Ahrendt was born in Salida, Chaffee Co Colorado to William John Ahrendt and Mary Louise Rose. It was a 2nd marriage for her mother Mary Louise Rose. (Her parents later divorced and her father committed suicide Mar 7 1933 in San Francisco. Her mother remarried two more times.)
May Ahrendt married 13 Nov 1928 in San Francisco, CA., Perry Bozarth b. 6 June 1901 d. 10 Mar 1979 St. Petersburg, FL. They divorced in 1934 and May moved in with their only son Harvey Perry (nicknamed Joe) Bozarth to Jerome, Idaho where she met Harrison Naillon who had lost his wife and had five small children who needed a mother. She married 2nd on 7 Mar 1934 in Jerome, Idaho, Harrison Naillon.
When they were first married they lived for a time around Shoshone, Idaho and later to Ontario, Oregon by 1944 where they lived until 1960. In 1960 they moved to Hermiston, Oregon. ‘May' (Ahrendt) (Bozarth) Naillon joined the LDS Church in 1953. Mary Louise Ahrendt told her children that she became ‘May' Ahrendt and used that throughout her life because her younger brother could not pronounce ‘Mary' and it kept coming out ‘May' and it took. She named her fifth son ‘William John' after her own father William John Ahrendt. May never told her children that her parents had divorced; they learned that only after her death when researching the family. Late in life she was always just called ‘Granny.'
