Victor F. Cherney, 81, of 420 Columbus Street, Brillion, died Thursday, May 2, 1991 at Calumet Medical Center, Chilton, after a short illness.
Funeral services will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Brillion. Father John Neuser will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
He was born June 30, 1909, in Kellnersville, son of the late Charles and Rose Zeman Cherney. He married Hazel Sterns Moore, December 28, 1951. He was employed at Brillion Iron Works as a Night Foreman and retired in 1975. He then worked part-time at Endries Fasteners for seven years.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Brillion, and American Legion Post 126 Becker-Bloedorn-Jensen of Brillion. He served in the Navy in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel; three step sons, and daughters-in-law, Richard and Caryl Moore of Woodruff, Garry and Faye Moore of Appleton, Randall and Audrey Moore of Brillion; seven step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred and Clem Halbach of Appleton, Grace and Doctor Arthur Sutherland of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Margaret Cherney of Manitowoc; nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
