Celebration of Life Services will be Monday, March 19, 2001, 2:00 PM at Providence Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeffrey Fox officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.
George Clarence Jacobson was born March 22, 1913 in Hoxie, Texas to Alex and Amanda Jacobson. George was a lifelong residence of the Taylor area. He worked as a delivery salesman most of his life, last working for Cen-Tex Butane of Taylor. George retired in 1976 at the age of 62. He married Pernie Poston, December 24, 1933. George enjoyed fishing and raising cattle and was known for his dry sense of humor. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great- grandfather. He was member of the First Assembly of God Church and was a charter member for 55 years. George was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Donna Hobbs and Michael Jacobson, as well as nine brothers and sisters.
Family will receive friends Sunday, 6 to 8 PM at Providence Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Danny Jacobson, Ronny Jacobson, Kenndall Jacobson, Randy Hobbs, Mark Mitchell and Claude Roznovak.
Survivors include his wife, Pernie Jacobson of Taylor; two sons, Cecil H. Jacobson and wife, Isis of Spring, Texas and Leon Jacobson and wife, Linda of Houston; one daughter, Velma Hobbs and husband, Archie of Taylor; one brother, Chester Jacobson of Taylor; two sisters, Mable Clark of Taylor and Nina Ethridge of Galena Park, Texas; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God, Building Fund, 1400 W. 7th St., Taylor, Texas 76574.
