Mabel Alice Mae Clark was born on May 6, 1919 to Eric and Amanda Sophie (Erickson) Jacobson in the Hoxie Community in Williamson County, Texas. She was the youngest child of eleven children. She married Johnny Doyle Clark on April 12, 1942 in Taylor, Texas and this marriage was blessed with one beautiful daughter. Mabel spent most of her life in the nursing field. She devoted her life to her family, helping to raise her grandchildren while their mother worked. She loved her daughter unconditionally. Mabel played the guitar, wrote her own music and songs. Her family remembers all of the times she tucked them in and sang Swedish lullabies to them. She always had a smile and gave herself and her love freely to all of her family. She would dance in the kitchen with them and laughter was always a part of their life. Mabel loved her coffee and her jelly bread. She loved all animals and even though she never learned to drive a car she could certainly drive a tractor. Mabel will be greatly missed by her many loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doyle Clark; a granddaughter, Cheryl Wade; 6 brothers; and 4 sisters.

Mabel is survived by her daughter, LaVerne Custer and her husband, Frank; two sisters-in-law, Pernie Jacobson and Ellie Jacobson; grandchildren, Troy Wade (Tammie); Cheryl Wade; Brenda Wade Urben (Eric); Briana Wade (Tommy Ford); Kevin Wade; step grandson, Ty Bentley; Great grandchildren, Amanda Wade; Rena Wade; Corey Wade; Brandi McDonald; Brandon Ford; step great-granddaughter, Olivia and Carling Urben.
