Lelia Blossom Bullard Simmons, was born in Camilla, Georgia to Felix O. Bullard and Annie Laurie Manry. She married Alvin D. Simmons on the 9th July 1936, they were married for 72 years. She was trained as a bookkeeper and worked for her father who was a farmer and her brother Truitt Bullard who owned Homestead Tire Company. She worked for the Wayne Dunnegan Farms here in Homestead for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Homestead.
Proceeded in death by siblings: Willela Beaty and James T. Bullard. She is survived by her siblings: Nina Chapman of Miami, Florida, Felix Bullard of Monticello, Florida, Betty Bishop, of Atlanta, Georgia, Margaret Garrett of LaBelle, Florida; children Nina Kay Nesbit of Florida City, Florida and Wade Simmons of Wewahitchka, Florida; grandchildren; Carol McGuire of Tampa,
Florida, Laura Shroyer of Florida City, Florida, Glen Nesbit of Gainesville, Virginia, Heather Simmons of Wewahitchka, Florida; great grandchildren; Tyler McGuire, Steven McGuire, Emily Shroyer, Brady Shroyer, Bane Nesbit, Logan Nesbit.
