She was a lifelong resident of Dade County, an avid UM fan and a successful businesswoman. She was the proprietor of The Pelican Hotel & Restaurant in Ft. Myers Beach, FL and Dorene's Dress Shop in Sunniland Shopping Center.
She is survived by her son Steven Neal Chapman; daughter Layne Chapman Peer; grand-daughter Jennifer Peer and sister Margaret Garrett. She is preceded in death by her husband Fred Chapman and daughter Elaine Chapman.
"Aunt Nina" was the beloved matriarch of a large extended family who loved and cherished her. Her love of animals and her kind and caring nature will always be remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
